But what it really did was show the idea that the series has tried to tell for years: that Iris (Candice Patton) is the heart and soul of Team Flash. Without Iris, there is no Team Flash | On the surface, this week’s episode of The Flash looked like a fun time-traveling tale where Barry (Grant Gustin) ran to the future to try and learn Savitar’s identity. He was rescued by Ivy (Maggie Geha) and nursed back to health, ready for his revenge. What he doesn’t know is that he has another arch-nemesis plotting his death from the shadows, since Penguin didn’t really die after Nygma shot him weeks ago. After Lucius passed Nygma’s “trials,” Nygma realized his villain name should, of course, be The Riddler. In the absence of his former best friend/villain coach-turned-enemy Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), Nygma set his sights on Lucius Fox (Chris Chalk), the only intellectual mind in all of Gotham that could answer his riddles under threat of death. The Riddler is born | After two and a half seasons of build-up, Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) has officially and finally become the Riddler, earning the iconic moniker while on a search for first, his new villain coach, until he realized what he really needed was his own arch-nemesis. Note: Legends of Tomorrow did not air a new episode this week. Every Friday, we round up the major twists, epic fights, new mysteries and anything else that goes down on The CW’s Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl and Fox’s Gotham and what it all means. Welcome to The Hollywood Reporter ‘s weekly DC TV Watch, a rundown of all things DC Comics on TV.
